Family Event at DreamCatcher Horse Ranch on April 1st

DreamCatcher Horse Ranch and Rescue Center on 10639 Toad Rd in Clermont will hold a family event with a carnival theme on Sunday, April 1, 2012 from noon until 4 pm. The Easter Egg Stravaganza should be lots of fun!

I've been invited to have my “Ponies & Puppies” booth there. My booth delights horse and dog lovers of all ages with my selection of nine books, related novelties and a craft project of decorating a real horseshoe with sequins and bling. Part of the proceeds from the craft will benefit the non-profit equine rescue program at Dreamcatcher.

My Beloved Horses series are illustrated collections of true short stories describing the special bonds between horses and their riders. I'm currently working on the fifth Beloved Horses book which will feature a horse from DreamCatcher as well as other horses from around the world. The event will also offer a FREE Easter Egg Hunt, pony rides, carnival style games, a mounted drill team demo, parade of rescue horses, and food including cotton candy and popcorn. There will be a silent auction with items including four Disney Park Hoppers worth $480, two universal studios tickets, two night stay at Lake Buena Vista Hotel in downtown Disney, top class restaurant vouchers and golf goodies.

Many thanks to Zak and the staff for hosting the monthly children's program at the Thonotosassa Public Library near me! For March, Zak asked me to speak about my passions of horses, dogs and books. Then, I taught them my specialty - how to decorate a real horseshoe with glitter glue, sequins and bling! My generous sponsors from Woogie's new book covered the cost of supplies.

Besides several local children, we had a large group from the Children's Academy in Brandon. More than 90 kids participated! What fun!

Thonotosassa Library Children's Program

On Thursday, March 22 from 10-11, I've been invited to hold my Ponies & Puppies Booth at a local library near Tampa. I'll be speaking to the children about my passions of horses, dogs and books. Then, I'll show them how to decorate a horseshoe with sequins and bling.

I'll be traveling on my 2012 Beloved Horses Book Tour from Memorial Day until the middle of June. From Tampa, we'll drive to Charleston, SC area, then Williamsburg, VA. Then, we'll head to Pittsburgh, PA and Medina, OH. Finally, we'll stop in the Philadelphia/NJ area and then Harrington, DE before driving home to Tampa.
