April & May Free Grooming Seminars!

 

I will be holding Free Grooming Seminars for pet owners as I travel north from Tampa this year since we have received the COVID Vaccine. Events will be held under cover but outdoors and socially distanced for the audience.

The topics include: Home remedies and tips for cleaning the ears, eyes and teeth; Suggestions for itchy pets from allergies and fleas; The variety of haircuts for your pet and how often should they be groomed professionally; What the owner can do in between grooming appointments to prevent matts and knots; and tips to teach a puppy to accept being handled by a vet or groomer. 

After speaking for about 30 minutes, I'll answer questions from the audience. I will have a few grooming supplies for sale at my booth - my favorites that I use on my clients' pets. I'll also have my horse, dog and mystery books for children through adults for sale at a discounted price!

I will have limited time for Mini Grooms after the seminar:

Only dogs 20 lbs or less. Best if bathed the day before!

The first stop will be on Sunday April 25 from 2-4pm at the Rec Hall at Happy Travelers RV Park, 9401 E. Fowler Ave, Thonotosassa, FL.

Then on Monday May 24 at 3PM at our site at KOA Santee Lakes, Located at 1268 Gordon Rd, Summerton, SC

Due to Covid 19, all events earlier this year were cancelled.

Author Fair in Land O Lakes FL!

I've been invited to the Local Author's Fair at the Land O Lakes Library, in Land O Lakes, FL! It will be held on Saturday, April 4th from 10AM to 4PM.


I'll be speaking on a Panel, and selling my 11 print books for a special price of $10 each. Personally signed to you or a loved one! There are 5 books in the Beloved Horses series and tell true stories about special horses. Woogie's Travels are two dog books for bedtime reading or beginner readers. I have three middle grade / teen mystery novels as well.

Quakertown PA Pet Fair!

The annual Pet Fair in Quakertown PA on June 1st was the setting for 90 vendors, lots of food choices, pet demos from Agility to Mounted Police, and plenty of fun for the family and furry friends!

It's always held on the first Saturday in June from 10am to 3pm.

We'll be there next year with my books and pet supplies again!

Pet Fair in Safety Harbor Florida!

I'll be holding a book signing at this FREE event! Also, I will have pet supplies for sale. Join us for a fun day!

5th Annual Pet Fair and Blessing, from 10 am to 2 pm, and include several activities:
· 11 am—Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office K-9 demonstration
· 12 noon—Pet Blessing by the Franciscans (pet blessing tags provided by Pets 4 Christ)
· 1 pm—Basket raffle with all proceeds to be divided among the participating rescue groups.
· 10 am – 2 pm—Rescue Groups and Adoptions
· 10 am – 2 pm—Vendors: Pet Accessories and Treats, Refreshments

Annual Pet & Craft Fair October 27!

I'll be selling and signing my books at this event for a special sale price of $12 with $2 per book donated to the Children's Home.

         On Saturday, October 27, 2018, the Thonotosassa United Methodist Women will be hosting their annual Pet & Craft Fair to benefit the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home (FUMCH). The Pet & Craft Fair will be held from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm at the Thonotosassa United Methodist Church Hall on 10905 Mistletoe Drive, Thonotosassa, Florida. This family event will entertain and educate pet lovers, and pets are welcome to join in the fun!

         There will be a Blessing of the Animals in the morning, followed by free demos and seminars provided by local dog trainers, pet groomer, veterinarian and other animal groups. Another Blessing will take place midday.

In the afternoon, Game Classes for pets including a Costume Class will be held. Prizes will be given to all participants.

         New this year is a Dunk Booth and Carnival Games for all ages! Keeping with the Carnival theme will be refreshments such as Snow-Cones etc. The games will be available to play all day.

         A variety of Vendors will hand out information and/or sell items from crafts to pet products. Food provided by the church’s women’s club will be for sale, and a Silent Auction will be available.

        All proceeds benefit the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home whose mission is to empower children and families to experience God’s love as revealed in the ministry of Jesus Christ. It was established in 1908 to provide a home for orphans and other children that had nowhere else to live in the Tampa area.

Summerfest Morning Market!

I'll have a booth at Summerfest Morning Market in Zephyrhills on June 23, 2018! I'll have my books and pet supplies on sale as well as a horseshoe craft. Please join us for this family friendly event!

Pet Expos this year!

I'll be attending the Global Pet Expo in Orlando March 21-23, 2018. This event is only for professional groomers, shop owners, and others in the pet industry. The expo has hundreds of vendors and several seminars. See http://globalpetexpo.org

Ocala Horsey Yard Sale at the Tack Shack in Dec!

If you love to shop for horses, join me at the famous Horsey Yard Sale at the Tack Shack in Ocala, FL the weekend of December 2, 2017! It's a huge outdoor venue for a variety of vendors as well as sales on items in the store.

I'll have my booth there on Saturday with a special sale price on my books - all will be priced at $12 each! And they will be signed of course! I'll also have dog items such as outfits, grooming tools and other supplies and gift items. And a fun horseshoe craft to decorate with bling and personalize! October Pet Fair

I will be selling my dog books and others at this event!

On Saturday, October 28, 2017, the Thonotosassa United Methodist Women will be hosting a Pet Fair to benefit the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home. The Pet Fair will be held from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm at the Thonotosassa United Methodist Church Hall on 11905 Fort King Highway, Thonotosassa, Florida. This family event will entertain and educate pet lovers, and pets are welcome to join in the fun! 

There will be a Blessing of the Animals in the morning, followed by Game Classes for pets including a Costume Class. Prizes will be given to all participants and Door Prizes will be handed out to all who sign up.

Next will be free demos and seminars provided by local dog trainers, pet groomer, veterinarian and K9 Police Dogs. Vendors and food provided by the church will be available for sale.

The mission of the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home (FUMCH) is to empower children and families to experience God’s love as revealed in the ministry of Jesus Christ. It was established in 1908 to provide a home for orphans and other children that had nowhere else to live. Today it serves as a diverse ministry with two campuses – one in Tampa - that include residential, therapeutic group, foster and emergency shelter care. The Home also provides independent living assistance and a community child care center. The Equine Therapy program is held at the Madison Youth Ranch and began in 2014. It offers children a country setting in which they can roam, play, and heal. One of the outstanding programs at the Youth Ranch is the Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) program with the assistance of Pinky and Sugar, the resident horses.




“The Tampa office serves 135 children in the Foster Care program,” says Cedric Davis, Director of Foster Care Services in Tampa. “These are children in crisis, including those who are victims of abuse, neglect or abandonment. A child’s length of stay depends on his or her needs, but no matter how long a child is in our care, we give them love, hope and a safe place to call home.”
