We Leave Monday, August 1st for Book Tour!

Thanks to my sister, Meri Bach, Woogie has a vest to wear to his book signing events! I found a local designing company (Big Fish in St. Petersburg, FL) who embroidered it in 4 hours for me while I was grooming two cats and one dog in my Aussie Pet Mobile just down the road.

Below is the latest update where we'll be traveling. Besides these stops, we'll visit other libraries, National Parks and anything of interest along the way. Woogie's second book - Woogie's Travels, Discovering America - will be based on our trip and be released in December - just in time for Christmas!

I'll be holding a drawing in September for a free copy of the new book - to enter the drawing, you choose a cover photo from a selection I'll be posting and e-mail me your choice. So follow this blog to keep informed!

The Publishing Industry Today

The Florida Writer's Association (FWA) held their usual 3rd Saturday of the month meeting at Carrollwood Barnes & Noble. I was invited to speak about comparing my experiences with a traditional press, Print On Demand and e-book publishing. They also invited Sammy Smith to speak about self publishing.

For those who were interested in self publishing with a Print On Demand company, I gave out free copies of Infinity Publishing books - see their site to receive your free copy!

Sammy Smith spoke about his printing and publishing company, SPS Publications, for writers who want to self publish. See his site for more information.

I want to thank Kaye Coppersmith, the senior editor for FWA, for inviting me and for treating me to lunch afterwards!
