Coming Soon! The Wildcat Orphan and the Mysterious Box
In 1897, my maternal
grandfather, George Gibbons Hayes, was an Orphan Train Rider at the age of
seven years. Banished from his first placement in New York because of his quick
temper, he was sent by train to Glenwood Springs, Colorado, a small mining town
west of Denver. No one was there to meet him and so he went home with the town
drunk.
This American Oliver
Twist novel was inspired by family stories about his childhood, especially from
his non-fiction book, The Tales of The
Golden Trail. This novel is the first in a Trilogy.
